Spray Drift
Risk Mitigation Measures in Europe to Prevent Plant Protection Product losses to the Environment
SETAC DRAW
Drift Risk Assessment
Workshop
Spray drift measurements are performed under a range of reference conditions to assess the amount of applied spray volume blown downwind of a treated area and deposited on the soil surface next to the field. Differences arise between assessments and these are related to the choice of standard reference conditions for tests.

Mitigating the risks of plant protection in the environment
Environmental risk mitigation measures are a key component in defining the conditions of use of pesticides in crop protection in Europe (EC 2009a, 2011). These risk mitigation measures derive directly from the evaluation of pesticide products and the risk assessment conducted for each use, and are specific of the type of risk they intend to mitigate.
